Q1: If the plant’s internet connection was down, causing the data logger to be offline for a period of time, but now it is restored, can I still see the inverter data?
A1: Yes. If the issue was only with the internet connection, the data logger would still have continued collecting data from the inverters or other devices during the offline period. Once the internet connection is restored, the logger will upload the buffered data to the system. Therefore, no inverter data will be lost, and you will see the complete records after reconnection.
Q2: Following the previous question, what if the connection between the inverter and the data logger was interrupted, but now it is restored? Will that affect the inverter data I see?
A2: If the connection between the inverter and the logger was interrupted, but the inverter itself kept generating power, the system will receive the inverter’s cumulative generation data once the connection is restored. This means the total generation values will not be affected. However, because the system cannot record real-time production during the disconnection period, all the missing daily generation will be added to the day when the connection resumes. As a result, the generation for that day may appear unusually high.
